About UTpride.net
UTpride.net is a project created by students responding to the need of student groups across the University of Toronto.
The University of Toronto is very fortunate to have such a large and diverse student population. However, the pitfalls such a community are both geographical and logistical.
How does a group in Scarborough effectively communicate with a group in Mississauga? And how do we inform each other about what we are doing and what issues we are having? We hope to provide some solutions with the tools that are available on this website.
Now, you may ask, what do you have to offer, and what can I do with these tools? Let's consider a list of some of the features.
- Write your stories, events, and articles here and watch them show up on your own website. What does this mean? Instead of editing your own HTML pages, you can use a simple form on this site, and the information you create here automatically shows up on your own webpage and ours.
- Community web calendar with iCal support for all or each group. You can post your events, and get your own calendar. You can also see how your events fit with everyone else's. Subscribe to your calendar with iCal or any calendar program supporting the web calendar standard.
- Make joint events easy. Associate your events with multiple groups and have them show up on all of their websites and calendars.
- Work on a solid extensible system. The system software is tried, tested, and true. It powers huge sites like theonion.com and the Howard Dean campaign in the United States. We have only shown you the most basic features, there is much more we can do!
I hope you like what we've created, and enjoy your visit to UTpride.net.
