A group of students and staff from the three campuses are collaborating to bring to you Queer Orientation Week! This infamous week is for NOT just for new students to campus...it is for all LGBTTIQ2S identified students and allies who want to meet other students, connect in with what's happening on campus, and have a very different rather queer orientation to the University of Toronto!

Events are scheduled after the initial craze of first week or so on campus - there are a range of events to hook into throughout the week, whether you are a new or returning student, undergrad or graduate, at Scarborough, Mississauga or St. George campus. Looking to volunteer or want more information? please contact us

Are you interested in hosting an event at your college? or for your organization? Please let us know and we will post the event here and incorporate it into the Queer Orientation Week of events.

There are lots of details on Facebook: University of Toronto's Queer Orientation

Schedule is posted here: http://www.lgbtq.utoronto.ca/orientation

Join U of T in the Pride Parade

Submitted by Administrator on June 14, 2008 - 10:03am. :: LGBTQ Resources & Programs | LGBTOUT | LGBTQ@UTSC | OUT@UTM | Positive Space
Jun 29 2008 - 1:00pm
Jun 29 2008 - 5:00pm

Marching is way better than watching.

Join us on Rosedale Valley Rd. as we prepare ourselves to march in the Pride Parade.

Pride Toronto's theme this year is "Unified," so the UT Pride Committee has decided to follow that theme by dressing as a sports team, or a Homecoming King or Queen. Fuck with gender. Come adorned in your athletic best (a jersey will be provided) and march - not just for fun, but for change. Joining us again is Samba Elegua, a local ensemble that will surely get you in the mood to march.

*1:00pm SHARP! Access to Rosedale Valley Rd. will be restricted after 1:00pm. You cannot join the parade after it has started.

Rosedale Valley Rd. --- Enter via Bayview or from Park Rd. (just off of Church St.)

Queer Orientation planning meeting

Come out to the first planning meeting for Queer Orientation Week!

I know September seems far away, but this is an excellent opportunity
to get together early in order to come up with some ideas for Queer
Orientation Week. Everyone's welcome, so bring your ideas and let's
make next year's Queer Orientation the best ever!

Queer Orientation takes place the week after your colleges' Welcome
Week, during the first week of classes. Queer and trans groups on
campus run a series of social events designed for students new to
queer and trans communities, and gives them a chance to meet new
friends, have fun, and get to know the resources and services
available. In the past, groups have hosted a meet and greet, queer
tours of campus, pub outings, and a karaoke night.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if you want to
help out but can't make the meeting:

OUT@UTM's 3rd Annual DRAG Show!!!!

Submitted by Paul Bowser on March 2, 2007 - 6:28pm. :: OUT@UTM
Mar 20 2007 - 9:00pm
Mar 20 2007 - 11:00pm

There are three things you should do in your life:
#1 travel the world
#2 dance naked to 'its raining men' or 'what a feeling'
#3 go to a drag show!!

Well you people are in luck! Come to the UTM Drag Show and you can take care of #3 on that list! (and possibly #2... we'll talk).

It's been a great turn out for the last 2 years with some
really entertaining/arousing performances. So boys slip on some pantyhose and pumps and girls get some oversized pants and visors and join us for an evening of Kings & Queens.

Doors open at 8:00 and the show starts at 8:30 and runs until about 10:30. The pub stays open until 12:00 in case you want to chat up your favourite performers after the show. This is an all ages event but drinks will be served to those 19+ with valid ID. Non-UofT students welcome as guests of U of T students.

As far as performers go we are still looking for a few more folks to fill in some spots so contact me (Aimee) through facebook if you're interested or want to help out in any way.

Queer Orientation Week needs you!

Submitted by LGBTOUT on August 16, 2006 - 8:09pm. :: LGBTQ Resources & Programs | LGBTOUT | LGBTQ@UTSC | OUT@UTM
Aug 19 2006 - 11:00am
Aug 19 2006 - 1:00pm

We are currently organizing this year’s Queer Orientation Week (formerly Queer
Frosh Week) and we need a diverse group of people to be part of our posters,
to represent the full spectrum of the LGBTQ community at U of T.

We need as many people as possible, so please tell your friends, queer and
straight, to come out. Volunteers should be comfortable posing while holding
someone’s hand, hugging, possibly kissing, etc. WE WILL NOT MAKE YOU DO
ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE DOING.

Please do not wear shirts with any visible logos or writing on them. If
possible, please bring an extra shirt. Most of all, wear something you would
normally wear. You don’t need to get dressed up for this.

We will be taking the photos this Saturday, August 19th, at 11:00am. Please
meet in front of Convocation Hall.

Big ol' gay lunch!

Submitted by Paul Bowser on March 1, 2006 - 11:38am. :: OUT@UTM
Mar 8 2006 - 11:00am
Mar 8 2006 - 1:00pm

BIG OL' GAY LUNCH
EVERY Wednesday from 11am to 1pm in the Blind Duck Pub.

Great News!!

I am excited to announce the much awaited return of BIG OL' GAY LUNCH this, and EVERY Wednesday from 11am to 1pm in the Blind Duck Pub.

For those of you who don't know what BOGL is, it's a casual get-together of queers and their allies for a weekly lunch. We take over a table in the pub and display the rainbow flag as a symbol of it being a positive space. The flag also helps in finding the group ;)

Big Ol' Gay Lunch is a great way of meeting new people and an opportunity to hang out with some pretty fabulous characters, so pack a lunch (or buy one there), bring a friend if you'd like, and join us for a good ol' gay time.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to e-mail me at utmchad@hotmail.com.

Hope to see you there!

Chad
President, OUT@UTM

P.S. The pub special on wednesday is a burger and fries/salad for $5. The carnivore in me is drooling.

UPDATE: We've worked out a deal with the pub. The $5 lunch special will now include your choice of drink off of the bar gun (i.e. coke, sprite, orange juice, cranberry juice, diet pop, etc.). You'll be eligible for this special if you show the pub staff a positive space sticker. If you don't have a sticker you can pick one up from us at the table.
