A group of students and staff from the three campuses are collaborating to bring to you Queer Orientation Week! This infamous week is for NOT just for new students to campus...it is for all LGBTTIQ2S identified students and allies who want to meet other students, connect in with what's happening on campus, and have a very different rather queer orientation to the University of Toronto!

Events are scheduled after the initial craze of first week or so on campus - there are a range of events to hook into throughout the week, whether you are a new or returning student, undergrad or graduate, at Scarborough, Mississauga or St. George campus. Looking to volunteer or want more information? please contact us

Are you interested in hosting an event at your college? or for your organization? Please let us know and we will post the event here and incorporate it into the Queer Orientation Week of events.

There are lots of details on Facebook: University of Toronto's Queer Orientation

Schedule is posted here: http://www.lgbtq.utoronto.ca/orientation

Join U of T in the Pride Parade

Submitted by Administrator on June 14, 2008 - 10:03am. :: LGBTQ Resources & Programs | LGBTOUT | LGBTQ@UTSC | OUT@UTM | Positive Space
Jun 29 2008 - 1:00pm
Jun 29 2008 - 5:00pm

Marching is way better than watching.

Join us on Rosedale Valley Rd. as we prepare ourselves to march in the Pride Parade.

Pride Toronto's theme this year is "Unified," so the UT Pride Committee has decided to follow that theme by dressing as a sports team, or a Homecoming King or Queen. Fuck with gender. Come adorned in your athletic best (a jersey will be provided) and march - not just for fun, but for change. Joining us again is Samba Elegua, a local ensemble that will surely get you in the mood to march.

*1:00pm SHARP! Access to Rosedale Valley Rd. will be restricted after 1:00pm. You cannot join the parade after it has started.

Rosedale Valley Rd. --- Enter via Bayview or from Park Rd. (just off of Church St.)

Queer Orientation planning meeting

Come out to the first planning meeting for Queer Orientation Week!

I know September seems far away, but this is an excellent opportunity
to get together early in order to come up with some ideas for Queer
Orientation Week. Everyone's welcome, so bring your ideas and let's
make next year's Queer Orientation the best ever!

Queer Orientation takes place the week after your colleges' Welcome
Week, during the first week of classes. Queer and trans groups on
campus run a series of social events designed for students new to
queer and trans communities, and gives them a chance to meet new
friends, have fun, and get to know the resources and services
available. In the past, groups have hosted a meet and greet, queer
tours of campus, pub outings, and a karaoke night.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if you want to
help out but can't make the meeting:

UTSC Queer Visibility Poster Campaign

Submitted by christelle on October 5, 2006 - 10:03am. :: LGBTQ Resources & Programs | LGBTQ@UTSC
Oct 11 2006 - 5:00pm

Interested in raising the visibility of queers at UTSC?

The LGBTQ Resources & Programs Office would like to initiate a poster campaign to raise LGBTQ visibility, presence and awareness of queers at UT Scarborough. This campaign is in response to a need for greater queer visibility and awareness at UTSC campus - a desire (and need) that has been expressed by both students and staff.

A similar initiative was launched at UT Mississauga called "Everybody's Campus," which was successfully organized by OUT@UTM in the Spring of 2005.

However, far from being a mere reproduction, we would like this project to be led, conceptualized, and produced by Scarborough students (with staff support), to give it a look and feel specific to the campus.

We need your help to accomplish this, and to make it known to everyone that there are LGBTQ-identified individuals at UTSC who belong and contribute to the campus community.

How can you do this? Attend the first meeting!

What: Meeting - Queer Visibility Poster Campaign
When: Wednesday, October 11th @ 5:00pm
Where: The Lounge, B-Wing

Aug 19 2006 - 1:00pm

We are currently organizing this year’s Queer Orientation Week (formerly Queer
Frosh Week) and we need a diverse group of people to be part of our posters,
to represent the full spectrum of the LGBTQ community at U of T.

We need as many people as possible, so please tell your friends, queer and
straight, to come out. Volunteers should be comfortable posing while holding
someone’s hand, hugging, possibly kissing, etc. WE WILL NOT MAKE YOU DO
ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE DOING.

Please do not wear shirts with any visible logos or writing on them. If
possible, please bring an extra shirt. Most of all, wear something you would
normally wear. You don’t need to get dressed up for this.

We will be taking the photos this Saturday, August 19th, at 11:00am. Please
meet in front of Convocation Hall.
